		<description>when i was learning AS3 by delving in to the Flash Text Engine (probably a bad choice, i know), i had no idea that AS, in its infinite wisdom, allowed the use of addChild() alone to send stuff to the stage.  at some point in debugging, it just seemed that Flash waved its hands and stuff magically appeared:
